Our Story

Award-winning school uniform & workwear specialists,
proudly serving schools and businesses since 2016.

Background

10 years on the shop floor

Rachael Richards spends a decade working in a uniform shop, gaining hands-on expertise and building the high standards and customer-care ethos that would shape everything that followed. Throughout that time, she saw what was missing in the market and began forming a vision for something different: a service built for modern families, operating online rather than relying on in-person queues.

Uniform7 is founded

Rachael launches Uniform7 in East London, turning her vision into reality. Where others relied on packed shops and long queues, Uniform7 would operate online from day one, giving parents the freedom to shop 24/7 and receive orders straight to their door. In the early days, Rachael personally hand delivered every order herself, a true testament to the dedication and care behind the business from the very start.

Growth

Expanding across Essex and the UK

Uniform7 grows its reach, serving schools and SMEs across Essex and beyond. Rachael invests in in-house machinery, bringing embroidery and print production under one roof to maintain quality and turnaround times. Parents shop online with efficient home delivery, while businesses can have orders delivered to the office or on-site at their convenience.

Our SMART Project

As a mother to a child with SEND and someone navigating her own journey with ADHD, Rachael understood first-hand how the uniform experience could be a real barrier for families. That lived experience became the driving force behind the SMART Project: an accessible, sensory, and adaptive school wear collection with branding, embroidery, and print. Designed in direct collaboration with the neurodiverse and disabled community to ensure their voices shape every part of it. Rachael is a passionate advocate for inclusive employment and proudly holds Disability Confident Employer status, embedding that commitment into the heart of how Uniform7 operates.
